Even after fixing the firewall issue, I still have the problem with the e-mail message pane going blank. It happens less often, but still happens. Oh well, I guess I have to try the seperate installation of Spambayes, and see it it works better.

I had this problem: When I deleted an e-mail the message pane went blank.

A message was displayed in the status bar "done compacting"

I had to click on another folder and click back on inbox to re-load, and then the sort order of the folder was messed up. I didn't want to have to re-sort the inbox every time I deleted a message.

To solve this open control panel -> security centre -> Manage security settings for: Windows Firewall -> Exceptions -> sbpython -> edit -> change scope -> custom list -> 127.0.0.1,XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/255.255.255.0 where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your ip address.

Now thunderbayes can comunicate with spambayes, and the list of messages does not freeze when i delete mail.

This is for those who, like me, are scared something bad will happen if you allow any ip to access sbpython

hi, i'm having the same exact problem as Dan, Fred, and Spammy above. sometimes rebooting will fix the error, but not any longer. It's on a WinXP machine, latest updates, and latest Thunderbird 2.... it was working really well before this.
